Favorite Peony

My favorite peony is finally blooming and DH took a superb picture of it early this afternoon.

BTW, I only have 2 varieties of peony - 'Karen Gray' and 'Krinkled White'. Before I planted 'Karen Gray', 'Krinkled White' was my favorite.

I just ordered Karen Gray. Any thoughts on companion perennials or bulbs that bloom the same time and go especially well with this peony? I was thinking of a tulip to pick up the color in the center of the peony.

FFG: Tulips would be nice, and also echo the shape of the peony flower. I generally shy away from tulips because they seem to be a favorite rodent food, but I may try again.

My 'Karen Gray' peonies are surrounded by various dianthus (including 'Bath's Pink'), and yellow and white Siberian irises ('Butter and Sugar', and one that was supposed to be 'Butter and Sugar' but isn't). They usually bloom together, but not always.

I'd love to see whatever combination you choose.
