We Wee Three Kinglets
I had an opportunity yesterday morning to do some backyard birdwatching, and I was rewarded by excellent looks at both kinglets. There were at least 3 ruby-crowned and 1 golden-crowned. I've never seen so many at one time before, and haven't seen a golden-crowned for several years. Seems the golden-crowned are relatively abundant this year compared to last year. I'm supposed to know better than to anthropomorphize, but the kinglets are just so darned cute and happy-looking busily flitting from branch to branch.
And I saw my first brown creeper of the season, and a possible blue-headed vireo. Didn't get a good look at the suspected vireo, but I thought I saw the white eye-ring.
Still no juncos or sparrows, but I'll keep watching when I can.
