Just a short recordkeeping type of post here. This is a list of what was blooming in the central Virginia garden and "meadow" as of August 17. Some of the photos are a couple of weeks old.

Zinnia 'Parks Pastel Blend' (they have a different definition of pastel than I do - it includes bright red)
Petunias
assorted Cupheas

Coreopsis verticillata 'Zagreb'

Dill
Sweet Marjoram (tiny leaves and very tiny flowers)

Coriander
Tomatoes
Peppers
Some of the Wildflowers:
Prunella vulgaris
Goldenrod
Eupatorium coelestinum (Blue Mist Flower)
another Eupatorium with white flowers, maybe boneset?

Oh my... I'm drooling over your meadow! And that 'Petra Dark' basil is amazingly beautiful. I would grow that just for the looks, honestly. (And I thought my 'Red Rubin' basil was pretty.)
Blackswamp Girl: I haven't grown Red Rubin, but my impression is that Sweet Petra Dark is a darker color? Do you have any photos of Red Rubin posted? And the flavor is very nice too, on the Sweet Petra Dark. Mexican Cinnamon Spice, Thai Basil and Sweet Petra Dark would all look wonderful together. Too bad I didn't do it that way. Next year.
The meadow so far contains only plants that were here before I got here, but I plan to start adding some either this fall or next spring.
I don't have pictures, unfortunately... this year I grew 'Opal Purple' and cinnamon basil instead. I prefer the taste of 'Red Rubin' to the 'Opal Purple,' though, so I will probably go back to that next year. Unless I figure out where to get 'Sweet Petra Dark,' since you say it has good flavor, too!
Blackswamp Girl: I got the Sweet Petra Dark seed from Nichols Garden Nursery. I'll probably grow it again next year - if you're interested, I can send you some seed.
Very impressive work here. You have a deep passion for the garden.
Ames: Thank you for the compliment!
