Beautiful tomatoes, Entangled - and the dragonfly dish is perfect.
I guess that choosing it was one of the things you did while waiting for the tomatoes to ripen!

Annie: Thanks - I dithered a while thinking which plate should have the honor of displaying the first tomatoes. The vegetable garden is surrounded by an unmowed field and lots of dragonflies (keeping the pest population down?). And I just happened to have some dragonfly plates, therefore.......

The tomatoes look lovely on the dragonfly plate. Red and green together is a delight for the eyes.

Now ... I wonder what you made with those tomatoes or did you just slice and eat?

Hello there! Those tomatoes look perfect. Mine are lacking proper sunlight at the moment. Your red potatoes look very similar to ones I grew this year here in England. I grew 'red duke of york' the pink colour was vibrant!

I'll take some of those lovely-looking potatoes from the last post since you have no more use for them! *wink*

Those tomatoes look so perfectly ripe that I think I'm starting to drool...

Kate: Hmm, I wonder if I subconsciously chose a green plate to make the tomatoes look redder? Those particular tomatoes went into BLTs and salsa. I think I'm going to do a post about using the tomato harvest....

Matron: I suppose it's been a tough year for hot weather veggies in England? I see you're also growing cranberry beans - I love fresh shell beans, but didn't plant any this year. Maybe next year....

Blackswamp Girl: Sure, help yourself to some potatoes! Bring a spade! ;-) I wonder how many more of those we're going to get. I've just been removing a few here and there - haven't dug up any plants yet. As soon as the weather gets cool enough to think about using the oven again, I'm going to make one of our favorite dishes, using potatoes AND tomatoes.

Yolanda Elizabet: Precisely! ;-)

Potatoes and tomatoes? No recipes come to mind for me that require both... are you going to share? (Please?!)

Nicole: Thank you! Now I need to get cooking!

Blackswamp Girl: I'll try to post a few recipes. I actually have 2 potato and tomato dishes that are similar. We like them both. Also, Indian potatoes & peas (Aloo Mattar) usually has tomatoes in it.

I think tomatoes are one of my top 5 favorite things of the summer. Aren't they just the best?!
