Thai Chiles = Chemical Attack?

Was this in the newspapers here? How did I miss it? I was alerted by the BotanicalGardening Blog.

If I can drive myself out of the house with just a handful of peppers, imagine what nine pounds could do.

Hi Entangled,

I'd seen an online news article and Philo saw it in the newspaper the following day - it sounds as if they were doing some kind of hot, dry roast in the kitchen. Philo roasts his hot peppers outside... if they get charred inside the house it sends me into coughing fits. I wonder what it could do to someone with asthma or real breathing problems?

The expanded story said the police didn't do anything, saying there was no law against roasting peppers.

Maybe Ki or Anthony/Compost Bin can expand on their techniques, since no peppers are hot enough for them!!

Annie: We're planning to roast a batch of chiles on the grill this afternoon. Doing it outdoors sounds like the way to go. We really did drive ourselves out of the house with the first Thai stir-fry I made with this year's chiles. The next time I opened all the windows and turned on all the fans first.

I'm looking forward to Ki's promised post about his hot peppers and sauces, but I have yet to make Anthony's acquaintance. I'm going to fix that right now.
