Lunar Eclipse
Wish for clear skies tomorrow night because there's going to be a total lunar eclipse and we won't have another one for almost 3 years.
For times and locations, see this detailed writeup. The cloud forecast for the US is here.
And here's an interesting rumor - the Navy may be firing a missile at the falling spy satellite at about the same time as the eclipse.

I heard about this a couple of days ago and we'll be out and about, watching, and trying to take photos. I love astronomical events.
Thanks for the head' up on the lunar eclipse. We are early to bed early to rise here but will try and stay up, love these events, like Kylee.
Frances at Faire Garden
Kylee: I hope you have clear skies and get some photos. I just realized I am tripod-less at the moment :-(
Frances: It's going to be kind of late in the day for me too, but I'm going to make an effort if the sky clears up. The weather people are threatening us with snow, but I think they're wrong.
So it looks as if the Navy was successful in blasting the errant satellite to smithereens.
Kate: So they tell us. The NRO, the "owner" of the satellite, is located not far from where I live in northern Virginia. They built themselves a new headquarters about 10 years ago and it was a long time before the public knew who was occupying that building.
