Flowers That Look Like Fireworks

Whadya think?

...bombs bursting in air...

I've heard this called "firecracker plant"

Looks incendiary to me

I started to write a post about the vegetable garden, but it got too long. Particularly for a holiday. Happy 4th of July to all those celebrating today!

Bek: And happy holiday to you too (belatedly)!

chey: I'm glad it wasn't just my imagination ;-) I guess I should have told the plants' real identities - the first one is dill.

Blackswamp Girl: Yeah, it was the dill that got me going on the idea. Thinking "gee that looks like fireworks; what else looks like fireworks?" Glad you enjoyed.

I like the colours of the lantana. I can see the fireworks in all the photographs. The firecracker plant has cool flowers.

Happy belated 4 July to you!

What beautiful photographs--the detail on these and on the ones in the butterfly posting is amazing. I garden in Virginia, too, though farther south, I think (I'm in the Williamsburg area)--I've never had a lot of luck with dill (it flops), but the lantana loves it here! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend--Cosmo

Kate: Thanks, and happy belated Canada Day to you!

Cosmo: Thanks for stopping by! I envy your extra zone of winter warmth (7b vs. 6b here). I look forward to reading more about your garden.
